Chutney (Gleadless) - Claire -

Rating:

Naan breads are disgusting. Had hairs in my food and the owner is grim, he loves himself and obviously sees something in the mirror that no one else does. Sits at tables with customers while they eat. Who wants that? Never again.

Urban Choola (Hunters Bar) - Pallvi -

Rating:

We ordered paneer aloo tikki, pav bhaji, butter masala, chicken tikka, daal makhani , and other. None of the food tasted any close to the real taste of the dish. Paneer butter masala and chicken tikka had tomato ketchup as ingredient. We got a call from someone in the restaurant asking our choice of the taste and whether we would like it to spicy.

None of the dishes tasted as it should. Poor cooking, too much oil in everything, very poor taste. Will not recommend at all.

Akhtars (Killamarsh) - Andrew Lenihan -

Rating:

Ordered a takeaway to be delivered. Usually very good, though the wait seems to get longer.

Just ordered again. Waited more than an hour and when it comes there were no poppadoms. Phoned up and asked the question why? They said we didn't order any. The bill we paid was the same amount as always, including poppadoms, still our fault!

Can't check the bill, as they never leave one. Wonder why? Get them to repeat your order over the phone after you have placed it.

Chutney (Gleadless) - Greg -

Rating:

I was really looking forward to a meal last night, catching up with some old friends that I've not seen for a while. The food is good, though I have to say my meal was on the lukewarm side, but I didn't want to complain for the reason being I found the staff member who was taking the orders very rude to me and there was no need for that. I'll not be going again. I would have understood if I was being an awkward customer. If you want to keep customers you need to be polite.

Shapla (City Centre) - Kelsea -

Rating:

We booked a table for nine people last Saturday and due do two people not being able to make it only seven of us went.

When we got there, at first the staff was polite. However, when we asked to order, the manager asked where the other two people were. We explained and made our order. We wanted to share three curries between seven because we weren't very hungry and we were having starters. The man went on to be very rude, pointing out we were only ordering three curries and two people hadn't come and that he was losing money and made us feel uncomfortable. (Our bill was still £100 and we didn't order that much.) After this, when they collected our starters and some weren't all finished he was shaking his head.

The food was average but we all agreed we had had better from a takeaway. Most of the other staff was friendly. But the owner made it a very uncomfortable experience. We will not be returning.

Old Red Lion (Grenoside) - M Betts -

Rating:

We have been several times to the Old Red Lion and always found the meals and service very good. But the recent visit we made was very disappointing. The portions have got increasingly smaller and I ordered a side of cheesy garlic bread, which was £3.50, and what I got was two minute pieces of bread and some salad plonked in the middle. It wasn't worth a pound never mind £3.50. Consequently we wont spend any more money there unless the prices come down.

La Perle (Wicker) - Dave -

Rating:

Fantastic food. Staff are very helpful and professional.

Would recommend with no hesitation.

Waggon & Horses (Millhouses) - Susan Sutler -

Rating:

Food was tasty and cooked well, delicious gravy. What let it down for me was the food being piled up. I like to see what's on my plate. Not good presentation for myself and a few of our group.

White Rose (Handsworth) - Shirley -

Rating:

Had a lovely meal there for three of us and a very fussy boyfriend. Really enjoyed it and didn't leave any. Also had dessert, which was great. Had to wait a while - maybe short staffed - but will return soon.

Cosmo (City Centre) - Danielle Beattie -

Rating:

The men's toilet was covered in faeces. Toilet bowl and flush button. Urine all over the floor. Marks for cleanliness 0 out of 10. Makes you wonder what is in the food.

Phoenix Inn (Ridgeway) - Laura -

Rating:

Honestly, absolutely awful! Waited 45 minutes for food. When it came it was wrong. They couldn't make what we ordered (plain pasta) because everything is bought in frozen and pre-made. So we waited 45 minutes for food that was never available in the first place.

The rude and aggressive waitress came over to our table and started shouting at us because we weren't happy. The rest of the food was gross.

The next table to ours had the same issues. Their order was wrong, too, and their food was also awful.

Never, ever going there again.

Moorlands (Owler Bar) - Kate Lord -

Rating:

Excellent. The family feel of this establishment is wonderful.

The waitresses that dealt with the party I attended were ever so polite and were more than happy to go out of their way for us. One waitress even helped my granddaughter to the toilet and the entire kitchen team, chefs and all, sang happy birthday to my mum.

It honestly is the most welcoming place I have ever visited. John, Emily, Hannah, and another girl with long blonde hair. All of these people are a credit to your business, working excellently with each other and deserve some recognition. Thank you for making my mum's birthday so memorable and enjoyable.

Browns (City Centre) - J Cameron -

Rating:

Lovely venue just next to City Hall in a Grade II listed building. We stopped in before a show to try the two-course offer. The food was tasty and great value. The service was warm and efficient. We would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite before a show.

Peacock Inn (Owler Bar) - Graham Bennett -

Rating:

Sorry to say very poor. Went on Friday 22nd September. Booked a table for 6pm. Got a drink and were shown to our table. Were told before we ordered that there was no gammon nor mixed grill. That was my night ruined. Looking forward to a mixed grill. Why not offer something alternative on the mixed grill if no gammon? So ended up with steak, which was so-so.

Then ordered a dessert. 15 minutes later, no pudding. They had forgotten, so got it 5 minutes later.

After paying the bill and leaving, heard the man serving tell customers the same and also adding no steak and ale pie.

Come on Peacock, it's Friday evening. This is a poor show.

Yours, upset Graham.

Mossbrook Inn (Eckington) - Janice Simpson -

Rating:

We came and had Sunday dinner about two months ago it was fantastic. We came today with 4 other people. Sorry to say we were all very, very disappointed. We got 2 slices of leathery beef and the trio of meat. Each portion was no bigger then a credit card. Never again.

Ashoka (Sharrow) - Ian Bowden -

Rating:

Wonderful little Indian eatery in Sheffield. We've been going regularly for a few years since our nephew introduced us to it. Tasty plates of food and great warm service from their team. The place is quirky, small and does get very busy.

Chez Lahlou (Walkley) - Christine Short -

Rating:

Party of 11 of us went for my partner's granddaughter's 21st birthday on 1st September. l can safely say 11 people will not be returning. I have had better meals 2-for-10 pounds in a pub.

My scampi was the cheapest you can buy. The others had steak, which was tough. We did not complain so as not to upset the party mood, but the waitress knew with the amount left on plates.
