Went to a Christmas dinner dance on 16th December. Hundreds of people packed in to a room more like a 1950s school dining hall - lots of long tables in rows. Dinner service due for 7:30pm. It was 8pm when our table got served. It was another hour, 9pm, before main course and a further three quarters of an hour before dessert.

Coffee was not served, we had to go help ourselves. Not an easy process for hundreds of people to get to two little coffee dispensers! Bar service was dreadful. Four staff who didn't appear to have any knowledge of bar skills. I had to take an empty bottle to bar to show them what I wanted! To add to that one till that the staff either didn't know how to use or it wasn't working properly.

We did complain at the time about the bar service but the management didn't want know!

Verdict - food edible, wine extortionate, and service dreadful. Won't be visiting again. Best Western Plus? I don't think so.

Went to Best Western in Newmarket two weeks previously. Service there had been brilliant. Aston Hall needs a major wake up call.
